Synthomer plans new NBR latex plant in Asia - report

Kuala Lumpur - Synthomer is reportedly planning a new 30kt/year nitrile latex plant in Asia. Malaysian news agency Bernama reported from a press event in Kuala Lumpur, quoting Synthomer Asia, Managing Director, Dr Brendan Catlow saying, "The need for additional capacity of 30,000 tonnes require us to look at another new production site in Asia now to meet customer's requirement."
No-one from Synthomer's headquarters in the UK was available to comment on the report.
Bernama further quoted Dr Catlow saying Synthomer wil spend a RM10 million to improve its R&D operations in Johor, southern Malaysia.
