Kottayam, India -- The Indian Rubber Board has published the July edition of Rubber Statistical news which covers statistics up to the end of May 2011.
Natural Rubber (NR) production
in India during May 2011 was
59,700 tonnes as against
56,400 tonnes during May
2010. The cumulative production
during the first two months of 2011-12
was 116,500 tonnes compared to
109,900 tonnes during the
corresponding period of the previous
year registering a growth of 6.0 percent
Consumption of NR by the rubber
goods manufacturing industry in the
country during May'11 was 80,120 tonnes
as against 81,375 tonnes during
April'11. The total natural rubber
consumption for the first two months
of the current financial year was
161,495 tonnes as against 157,400 tonnes with a growth of
2.6 percent.
The total consumption in the
auto tyre sector was 106,936 tonnes
during the above two months,
recording a growth of 7.2 percent over the
corresponding two months of the
previous year.
Production of Synthetic Rubber (SR)
during May'11 slightly increased to
9,468 tonnes from 9,262 tonnes
during April'11. The total production
of SR during April'11 and May'11
increased to 18,730 tonnes as
against 17,702 tonnes during the
same period of the previous year.
Consumption of SR during May'11
was 35,740 tonnes as against
36,890 tonnes during April'11. The
total consumption of SR during the
initial two months of 2011-12 was
72,630 tonnes as against 65,925 tonnes
during the corresponding period of
the previous year.
