Japanese auto production in July was down by 9%

Tokyo -- Japanese automobile production in July 2011 was recorded as 790,325 units. Compared with the 867,242 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is a decrease of 76,917 units or 8.9 percent, and production decrease on the same month of the previous year for ten consecutive months, according to data from JAMA, the Japanese Automotive Manufacturers Association. The post-earthquake decline has been reducing since the natural disasters of 11 March 2011, as Japan's industry recovers.
Domestic sales in July 2011 stood at 373,058 vehicles, down 23.3 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year.
Exports (result) stood at 97.0 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year
