Thai rulers urged to help rubber growers

Bangkok - In Thailand, the Democrat Party has called on the government to implement its proposals to help rubber growers hit by the current slump in rubber prices, the Bangkok News has reported.
The proposed measures include greater use of rubber in the construction and infrastructure projects and a review of reported plans to sell off 210,000 tonnes of rubber from its stockpiles.
The proposals also demand concerted efforts to promote and speed up investment in in rubber processing factories, according to the 25 Sept report.
