ERJ Round-up: Tire Technology
ERJ staff report (TP)
Weekly round-up from the world of tire technology – reports on STARCO … Apollo Vredestein … Brityrex International Exhibition

Danish tire maker STARCO achieved certification by Swedish agricultural implement manufacturer Väderstad. In the quality, delivery and focus area categories, STARCO scored maximum points.
Apollo Vredestein used the launch of its next generation Quatrac and Snowtrac tires to continue its “In Style” brand campaign. The global press launch included two short feature films, which tell the same story from two different perspectives. For the Quatrac 5, the point of view is that of a woman – the primary audience for the product. The Snowtrac 5 video is shown from a man’s point of view.
Tire campaigner, Frances Molloy, will speak at the TyreTalk seminars at Brityrex International Exhibition, 7-9 October 2014, Manchester, UK. Molloy is lobbying the UK government to change the law on the sale and fitting of over age tires. There is currently no UK law preventing the fitting of tires because of their age, which is a loophole she is determined to close by raising the profile of the issue with politicians, ministers, motoring authorities and the tire industry.
