China's Hailide advances $52m Vietnam tire-cord fabric plant

Tay Ninh, Vietnam – Chinese reinforcement materials supplier Hailide New Material is advancing the construction of its $52-million (€45-million) tire cord fabric plant in Vietnam.

Civil construction on the 18-kilotonne-per-annum high-performance tire cord fabric project has been completed, Hailide said in a recently published 2026 first-half report.

The project has now entered the "equipment installation and commissioning stage," the Shenzhen-listed company added.

“Some high-end customers have started preliminary certification document reviews and on-site inspections,” Hailide said, adding that certification work was progressing in an “orderly” manner.

Hailide first announced the project in August 2023, when it disclosed plans to invest $52 million to expand its production base at Phuoc Dong Industrial Park in Tay Ninh province.

The project involves 56,380 square metres of new facilities, including twisting, weaving and dipping workshops and warehousing.

As previously reported by ERJ, Hailide initially established the Vietnam facility to manufacture polyester industrial filament yarn.

The company started up 37ktpa of capacity there in the second half of 2020 and announced a further expansion by 42ktpa in March 2021. (ERJ report)
