Weekly news from the tire industry – reports on Mitas ... Cooper Tire & Rubber Company ... Magna Tyres

Czech tire maker Mitas was a tire partner for the 11th Red Bull Romaniacs – held 15-19 July in Sibiu, Romania. A total of 350 off-road motorcycle riders hailing from 33 nations competed in the hard enduro rally. Mitas provided tire sales and service at the race site every day of the race. The firm also supported three riders with its EF-07 Super Light and C-19 Super. The EF-07 features a new rubber compound and mousse insert. Aramid nanofibres were mixed into the compound to improve resistance against tread abrasion and tearing.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company launched an enhanced online tire business training program for its direct and indirect wholesale and retail dealers. This new program, eCooper University Training Rewards, offers Cooper-brand customers several online courses in selling skills, product knowledge, the Cooper brand and business management knowledge. Participants who complete the training classes will earn points that translate to various levels of certification from Cooper, as well as "rewards to incentivise their teams to learn more as they build their business with Cooper".
Dutch firm Magna Tyres announced that Armadillo Tire in Texas is their new exclusive distributor of solid tires in the US. Provisions of the agreement grant Armadillo Tire LLC sole ability to purchase and resell Magna branded solid tires utilised in the construction (skid-steer and telehandler) and scrap metal/waste handling (OTR) industries.
