With most industry expos being canceled or postponed this year because of the Covid pandemic, ERJ showcases the latest tire industry technologies that would have caught the eye this year.

Comerio Ercole has introduced a fully integrated package, named CEMES, to support the interface between an Industry 4.0 calenderline – for steel and/or fabric rubberising processes – and a tire maker’s management systems.

Tire innerliners made with ExxonMobil’s new Exxpro 3563 polymer are said to enable an IPLR (inflation pressure loss rate) performance of below 1.8%, thereby enhancing safety, reducing emissions and extending tire-life.

Investment by Farrel Pomini, part of HF Mixing Group, in UK-based pyrolysis system builder WF Recycle-Tech. The project will see the introduction of WF’s new pyrolysis solution for the recycling of end-of-life tires to the market.

Kobe Steel has introduced an innovative solution that facilitates a change of mixer from tangential- to intermeshing-type to help adapt to changes and improvements in polymers and additives.

Marangoni Tyre Machinery has launched the ‘full automation tire building machine’ platform, designed to enable tire manufacturers to sustain high productivity while enhancing operator ergonomics.

Maris thermo-mechanical devulcanisation extruders, do not require the use of chemicals, instead leveraging the different chemical-physical characteristics of the C-C, C-S and S-S bonds.

MESNAC says its latest generation of tire-RFID tag, which is said to achieve a 20% increase in tension under smaller dimensions and lighter weight, thereby improving its robustness during tire overall lifecycle.

Safe-Run’s SRS-PUD2 tire building machine integrates many automatic and intelligent technologies so that all steps – except for manual steel rim placement – are fully automatic and only one operator is needed for the whole equipment.

The latest CoEx 4+2 co-extrusion heads, from Troester, feature a quadruplex hammerhead design, which allows selective compound changes along with modular tooling, and an opening width tailormade to meet specific requirements.
