Hike necessary to address rising manufacturing costs, regulatory and environmental compliance, packaging, and logistics
Boston, Massachusetts – Cabot Corp. is increasing prices for all carbon black products sold by its reinforcement materials segment in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Effective 1 July, or as customer contracts allow, prices of Black Pearls, CRX, Endure, Propel, Regal, Sterling, Spheron and Vulcan carbon black products will increase by €115 per tonne, in addition to any applicable index-related adjustments.
In a 1 June statement, Cabot said the price increase was necessary to address rising manufcturing costs, regulatory and environmental compliance, packaging, and logistics.
The hike, it added, will enable Cabot to remain “a reliable supplier of high-quality carbon black products while continuing to advance sustainability, and ensure security of supply in the region.”
