China’s tire exports maintain upswing towards yearend

Official figures for November show a 23% increase from the same month a year ago
Beijing – China's exports of ‘new rubber tires’ in November 2020 reached 48 million units, a 23% increase from the same month a year ago, official state figures show.
The value of exports as presented in US dollars leapt 12%, to $1.3 billion (€1.1 billion), according to China’s General Administration of Customs.
Weight of these exports in November also shot up 17% from a year ago, to 600,000 tonnes.
This continued two-digit growth across the board in October.
Over the first 11 months of 2020, China’s tire exports contracted by 5% compared with the same period in 2019, to 432 million units.
The 11-month export value fell by 11%, to $12 billion; volumes in tonnage contracted 4% to 5.5 million tonnes.
China produced 83 million units tires in November 2020, up 19% from a year ago, said China’s National Bureau of Statistics. Eleven-month production totaled 744 million units, about flat from the same period in 2019.
