RIEG events to explore ocean pollution, medical rubber

London – UK-based Rubber in Engineering Group (RIEG) is organising two online events in December to discuss elastomers in medical applications as well as the role of tire particles in ocean pollution.

The webinars, hosted by RIEG and Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) include a technical meeting on 4 Dec to review elastomers in medical applications.
 
To be moderated by RIEG chairman James Busfield, the event will review the use of elastomers in heart valves and other medical devices and will study speciality elastomers for medical markets.

Julien Gautrot of Queen Mary University of London, Ruhi Patel, from the University of Cambridge and Anas Mujtaba from ExxonMobil will present at the event.

In addition, IOM3 has organised a webinar on 8 Dec to explore “the invisible ocean pollutants from our roads.”

The event, which will feature Fazilet Cinaralp of European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA) among other speakers, will discuss the role of tires as an ‘invisible pollutant’ in waterways.
