Apollo Vredestein sharpens focus on European OE activities

Kettering, UK – Apollo Tyres chief quality & business excellence officer Pedro Matos has been named to lead the company’s OE strategy and sales for passenger car tires in Europe.
The move, according to vice-chairman Neeraj Kanwar, is part of Apollo's plan to become "a strategic long-term partner for all the OEMs in Europe.”
Matos has over 25 years’ experience in the tire industry and has worked directly with several major European OEMs in quality, R&D and sales positions, Apollo said in a 28 Feb statement.
“Pedro’s appointment demonstrates Apollo Tyres’ full commitment to its OE journey in Europe,” stated Kanwar.
According to Benoit Rivallant, president of Apollo Vredestein, being seen as a key player by European OEMs is one of Apollo Vredestein’s strategic goals.
With Matos leading the OE strategy in Europe, the company expects to achieve “long-term success” in the region, Rivallant added.
