ContiTech targets digitalisation to drive growth
Hanover, Germany – ContiTech has highlighted the role of digitalisation in ‘developing and fundamentally changing’ its business, ahead of the Hannover Messe trade show.
The company will be displaying its industry 4.0 capabilities and smart technologies during the show which will be held 1-5 April in Hanover.
In a release ahead of the show, ContiTech said it was employing intelligent solutions to become “more innovative and agile” and to “help shape tomorrow’s mobility in the key industries.”
A “crucial factor”, said ContiTech, was the automation of its sites and production plants in this process, but did not elaborate further.
While remaining committed to its "long-term expertise" in the field of rubber, ContiTech said it was shifting focus on “smart solutions beyond rubber” in order to achieve growth.
In Hanover, ContiTech will unveil a new air spring system with integral sensor technology, which provides continuous information about the operational status in real time.
The solution, according to ContiTech, will increase efficiency in everyday operations by supplying information such as its pressure, temperature and height.
The company will also be displaying its CrimpIQ controller, which it said is ‘an example of rubber expertise and software know-how going hand in hand.’
A smart controller for crimping hydraulic and industrial hoses, CrimpIQ enables the hoses to be remotely maintained and updates loads.
In addition to saving time and money, the tool can reduce downtime and increase efficiency, ContiTech claimed.
The entire crimping process, which has traditionally been carried out manually, can now be monitored via a private, protected website.
The controller has a touchscreen interface where users find the correct specifications, and customers can store their presets.
ContiTech will also have Sweden as its partner country during the show.
The company will highlight its latest contributions to infrastructure projects in the Sweden, including the new 21-kilometer Stockholm Bypass highway link.
Continental is directly present at the construction site in Stockholm as a service partner for conveyor belts.
