People: Conti names new commercial vehicles & after market boss

Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany – Continental Corp. has appointed Gilles Mabire as new head of its commercial vehicles & aftermarket (CVAM) business unit, effective 1 April.
Mabire will replace Dr Michael Ruf who is joining German machinery supplier KraussMaffei as chief operating officer.
Mabire joined Conti 10 years ago and most recently served as the head of Continental in France and CEO of Continental Automotive France, a company release said 12 Feb.
He has previously worked with Siemens VDO Automotive and a “major European automotive manufacturer,” Conti added.
CVAM is part of Continental’s ‘interior division’ and is specialised in commercial vehicle & aftermarket products.
The unit also supplies ‘intelligent transportation system’ products that connect vehicles with transport infrastructure.
