Shin-Etsu posts double-digit growth for silicones
Tokyo – Shin-Etsu has reported a 19.2% year-on-year increase in Q1-Q3 operating profit to Yen45,838 million (€366 million) at its silicones business.
The increase in earnings for April-Dec 2018 was achieved on sales of Yen 153,026 million, 13.5% higher than the prior-year period.
Shin-Etsu linked the gains to price adjustments made for both general-purpose and functional products.
The Japanese group added that it met “strong worldwide demand by carrying out maximum production and selling it out.”
