Pirelli recognised for actions to combat climate change
Milan, Italy – Pirelli & C SpA has achieved an A rating from CDP for its corporate climate policies, the tire maker announced 22 Jan.
According to the Italian group, the recognition by CDP confirms its “constant commitment to sustainability.”
CDP (formerly the carbon disclosure project) is an international non-profit organisation, which circulates information on environmental issues.
Its ratings are based on the effectiveness of a company’s efforts to cut emissions, reduce climate risks and develop ‘the low-carbon economy’.
CDP’s mission is to drive companies and governments to cut greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests.
Pirelli was also named among the top Dow Jones sustainability leaders in the ‘auto components sector’ in 2018.
