People: Hankook senior role for ex-Michelin director Heywood

Neu-Isenburg, Germany – Hankook Tire Europe has appointed former Michelin executive Guy Heywood as marketing and strategy director for its European truck and bus tires business.

Heywood is taking over the position of Seok Yun Kim, who has become managing director of Hankook’s organisation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The appointment is part of its strategy to expand the Korean tire maker's “premium status” in the truck & bus tire market, said a 15 Jan Hankook announcement.

Heywood brings “many years of experience and a track record of business success,” said Tony Lee, vice president marketing & sales at Hankook Tire Europe.

He will be based in Hankook's European headquarters in Neu-Isenburg, near Frankfurt.

Heywood previously worked for Michelin Tyre plc in the UK for over 20 years. There, he held senior roles, including commercial director north Europe, up until July of last year.
