Cooper Standard to supply Fortrex to Ford

Novi, Michigan – Cooper Standard Holdings Inc. will supply the 2020 Ford Explorer with sealing and fluid transfer systems.

The agreement, said Cooper Standard, includes its Fortrex-brand elastomeric material for a static sealing system in the Explorer – the sixth generation of the vehicle.

Cooper Standard also will provide engine cooling hose assemblies, including e-motor and battery cooling, as well as transmission oil cooler hose assemblies.

Fortrex is described as a light-weight elastomeric material that can also offer benefits in terms of weathering, durability and sound-insulation characteristics.
