Weber & Schaer distributing Himadri carbon blacks

Hamburg, Germany – Himadri Carbon Black has appointed Weber & Schaer GmbH & Co.KG (W&S) as its exclusive distributor for 'select' rubber end-use markets in several EU countries, W&S has announced

The deal, which covers Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, France, Spain and Portugal, follows a “significant capacity expansion” at Himadri’s specialty carbon facility.

Himadri is a division of Himadri Specialty Chemical Ltd (HSC), a supplier of carbon-based products based in Kolkata, India.  It claims to be one of the few global companies with an integrated raw material base for carbon black.

W&S’s “strong European wide presence and its portfolio comprising natural rubber, synthetic rubber and chemicals has made it a natural choice for us,” said Monojit Mukherjee, HSC business head, carbon black.

“Given the current supply constraints of carbon black, we believe European customers will be excited to have a reliable partner for their carbon black needs,” said René Marc Weber, managing partner of W&S.

With its global operations and a broad portfolio of carbon black products, Himadri “is ideally positioned to support the European market,” added Weber.
