Birla Carbon wins top sustainability rating
Mumbai, India – EcoVadis rating agency has awarded Birla Carbon a gold level rating for its sustainable practices for the third consecutive year.
Birla was in the top 2% of companies assessed from its industry sector, with a score of 71%, according to a company news release on 3 Jan.
The rating comes after Birla's sixth sustainability report, "share the strength: working together for a sustainable future."
EcoVadis, which provides supplier sustainability ratings for global supply chains, scored more than 5,000 companies across 150 countries. Birla's ranking was under the "manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products" industry.
Birla Carbon, a business of the Aditya Birla Group, is a manufacturer and supplier of carbon black, with 16 manufacturing facilities across 12 countries.
