Beijing - Shandong Linglong Tire Co. Ltd. has won the fifth China Industrial Award to become the first tire company in the country to win the award.
Linglong said in a 10-Dec statement that this is the highest award in Chinese industrial field given to enterprises which work on “high-end manufacturing fields with global competitiveness.”
Founded in 1975, Linglong Tire is among the top 3 tire makers in China and currently has six R&D centres and five manufacturing bases globally. The company employs 10,000 employees and claims that its brand value reaches nearly $5.5 billion (€4.8 billion).
Linglong currently holds more than 500 patents and has successfully developed dandelion-rubber tires, 3D printed polyurethane tires and silicone tires.
The company supplies tires to international OE customers including VW, Audi, Ford and Renault-Nissan.
The tiremaker is currently pursuing a number of expansion plans, including a $1-billion greenfield production plant to be built in the free trade area of Zrenjanin, southeast of Serbia.
Currently, Linglong has manufacturing facilities in Dezhou, Liuzhou , Jingmen and Zhaoyuan China as well as Thailand as part of its 5+3 global layout.
The company is currently studying the building of a third overseas plant in Americas.
