Hermes, France – Borflex has acquired Swiss manufacturer of rubber and plastics parts Rex Articoli Tecnici, the Hermes-based company has announced.
The acquisition is intended to reinforce Borflex’s international expansion strategy, according to a 6 Dec statement from Borflex. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Rex Articoli's supplies products for rail transport applications and multi-material components as well as bicycle brake systems sold under the SwissStop brand.
Borflex said the takeover extends its position in the European market for rubber and composite products: growing its workforce by 120 to around 350 people, and annual sales to €46 million.
With nine production sites in France, Borflex specialises in small- and medium-run manufacture of rubber, polyurethane and thermoplastic elastomer parts.
The northern France-based company’s main markets include defence, railway, automotive, energy, food-processing industry and industrial maintenance.
