Denka raising carbon black prices
Tokyo – Denka Performance Elastomers (DPE) is raising the prices of its carbon black materials by 20% as of 2019, the Japanese company announced 28 Nov.
Marketed under the brands Denka black and Denka Black Li, the materials are produced through the thermal decomposition of acetylene and are highly purified and conductive.
According to DPE, demand for the carbon black products has “significantly” increased both locally and globally and the “upward trend is anticipated to continue”.
The company went on to state that the price-hike was in response to increasing production and logistics costs.
“In order to maintain our business sustainability as well as reliable supply quantities to our customers, we have decided to enact the aforementioned price increase,” DPE added.
