Report: Michelin launches €40m expansion of Polish plant

Olsztyn, Poland – French tire maker Michelin has launched a PLN169 million (€39.3 million) expansion plan at its production unit in Olsztyn, according to the Polish press.
The investment will go towards modernising the factory and installing new production lines to increase premium tire manufacturing capacity by 5 million tires, said Interia Motoryzacja sports magazine on 22 Nov.
Set for completion in 2022, the expansion plan will add 66 new jobs once fully operational. The company currently employs nearly 5,000 people in Poland.
Built 23 years ago, the Olsztyn factory manufactures tires for passenger car, utility vehicles, 4x4, SUVs as well as truck tires and farm tires as well as moulds, cords and rubber compounds.
