Wilmington, Delaware – Chemours Co. is introducing prices increases on a range of chemicals sold in North America, the company announced 27 Nov.
Effective 1 Jan, 2019, the increases of up to 10% cover a variety of chemicals, including methylamine-based products.
Methylamines are used to make intermediates for a wide range of chemicals, including many used in the rubber industry
Derivatives include dimethyl dithiocarbamate salts and tetramethylthiuram mono- and disulfide (TMTD) accelerators – the latter used especially for butyl rubbers.
Other dimethyl amines are used as emulsifiers in synthetic rubber production, as modifiers in the vapor phase polymerisation of butadiene and stabilisers for natural rubber latex.
