KraussMaffei target of cyber attack

Munich, Germany – Machinery manufacturer KraussMaffei has been hit by a ‘cyber incident’. Specifically, the company is said to have fallen victim to a ransomware attack. The main location that is affected is the company’s headquarters in Munich. 

According to the notification sent to customers today, the locations in Näfels (Netstal), Florence / USA (Krauss-Maffei Corporation) and Hanover (KraussMaffei Berstorff) have not been impacted.

The company responded immediately to the attack, which struck last week, by informing the relevant authorities and cooperating closely with its security service providers.

During the investigation, the company shut down various servers as a precautionary measure, which means that parts of the KraussMaffei Group have currently only limited electronic access.

The company is currently conducting a comprehensive investigation to evaluate the implications of the situation and guarantee the normal launch of business operations as soon as possible.

The KraussMaffei Group emphasised that it has no insight into the status of its customers' systems and recommends that customers check their systems using the usual methods if they suspect technical problems.
