Anagni, Italy – Italian company MAE Industria Gomma (MIG) is looking to expand its bladder product and manufacturing capabilities into new areas.
The company, based in Anagni, about 50km south of Rome, has almost 50 years’ experience in the tire retreading market.
The portfolio includes different bladder sizes ranging in rim diameter form 13’’ to 24’’ – for motorcycle, passenger, light truck and large truck tires.
“After working for many years in retreading field, MIG is now offering itself “as a partner for [other] companies looking for bladder technology,” said a company spokeswoman.
In particular, the R&D department has been working on bladder applications and bladder processes for the new-tire industry, she added in written comments to ERJ.
MIG “can supply bladders for new-tire companies [especially] tire manufacturers looking for a ‘partner’ rather than just a supplier, the spokeswoman added.
Asked about other potential applications, she commented: “Some interesting experiences have been done using properly designed bladders in the automotive industry.
“The project is still in progress and some prototype bladders, in terms of contour gauge surface, have been manufactured.”
