Sao Paulo, Brazil — Coim expanded capacity for cast elastomers at its Sao Paulo plant in October.
Headquartered in Italy, Coim’s business focuses on speciality cast polyurethane elastomer and polyols.
The company did not disclose how much it had invested in the expansion. However, it did say that it had doubled capacity for its Imuthane cast elastomer range.
All the polyols needed to make the materials are being produced at the site.
Output from the new investment will support all the Latin American business. Coim said it demonstrates its commitment to the region.
‘This expansion is a logical step to continue supporting our strong, growth in this business unit over the last years,’ said Jose Paulo Victorio, president of Coim Latin America.
He added that the site would provide technical and sales support for all of the company’s customers on the continent.
This expansion follows a ground breaking at the company’s site in West Deptford, New Jersey in August.
