Toyoda Gosei starts production at new Indian plant

Kiyosu, Japan – Toyoda Gosei has started production at its manufacturing plant in Dekavada, Gujarat, the Japanese automotive supplier announced 6 Nov.
The Gujarat Plant of Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt. Ltd (TGMIN) supplies airbags, steering wheels and weatherstrips to Suzuki Motor Gujarat.
Spanning an area of 18,000 square metres, the production plant is expected to employ 330 people by March 2021.
According to Toyoda Gosei, the demand for airbags has been increasing with growth in automotive production in India and stricter safety regulations in the country.
“India is a key market for Toyoda Gosei, and the company has been enhancing its development and production network there,” said the Japanese company.
As part of its growth strategy in India, Toyoda Gosei established a new technical and sales office in Gurgaon, outside Delhi in April.
The company plans to more than double its sales volume in India to Yen35 billion (€270 million) by fiscal 2025.
