Apollo rolls out first truck tires from Hungary plant

Kettering, UK – Apollo Vredestein has started production and delivery of Apollo truck tires from its new factory in Hungary.

The tires – the Apollo 385/65 R22.5 Endurance RT HD – have now been fitted on trucks used by Belgium-based Piessens & Zonen, a company specialised in the transport of construction materials.

Apollo Vredestein started supplying Apollo truck tires in 2017 and says it has sold “a large amount” in Europe since.

The company claims to offer “favourable price/quality ratio, limited rolling noise and excellent grip” as well as “excellent cost-per-kilometre ratio”.

The Indian tire maker has also noted growth in the number of clients in the UK in particular.

"The UK has become an important market for the brand," according to Apollo TBR sales manager Steve Miller.

Apollo also claims to offer “exceptional durability” for its truck tires. With this in mind, the company has given its tires names starting with 'ENDU', for endurance.

All the truck tires have at least a C label for fuel consumption and an A label for wet conditions. Apollo also gives a five-year warranty on any manufacturing issues and a buy back guarantee for the carcass.

Apollo Tyres opened its tire plant in Gyongyoshalasz, Hungary last April and expects to ramp up production to reach 16,000 passenger car tires this autumn.

At full capacity, the plant will manufacture 5.5 million passenger and light truck tires and 675,000 commercial vehicle tires per year.

The facility produces both the Vredestein and Apollo brand of tires for the European market.
