Apollo boss 'heartened' by OE progress in Europe
Kochi, Kerala – Apollo Tyres Ltd chairman, Onkar S. Kanwar has highlighted the growing contribution of the company's business in Europe to its meeting its ambitions in the global tire market.
Addressing Apollo's AGM on 1 Aug, Kanwar pointed to the inauguration of the company's first European production site in Hungary last year as well as increasing OE orders in the region.
Having been largely focused on the replacement market in Europe, Kanwar said with the opening of the plant in Hungary, Apollo would “aggressively” seek more business from the European car manufacturers.
“It is heartening to note that [Apollo company] Vredestein has been selected as a fitment on the Volkswagen Polo, SEAT Ibiza and Ford EcoSport and the supplies have already begun to these auto makers,” he added.
