London – The Rubber In Engineering Group (RIEG) has organised afternoon technical discussion meeting on the processing of engineering elastomers, the IoM3 group has announced
The meeting, to take place at the IoM3 headquarters in London from 13.30h on 14 Dec , is part of the RIEG technical programme, sponsored by ARTIS.
Entry to the meeting is free of charge, though pre-registration is required: see event link for more details.
With an introduction by Prof James Busfield the programme features:
Meeting compound specifications in the oil & gas industry - Emma Pitchford (Clwyd Compounders, UK)
Meeting the requirements for elastomer compounds that seal effectively at huge pressures, extremes of temperature and in aggressive environments whilst providing rapid gas decompression resistance and retaining processability is explored.
One-coat bonding systems - Merryn Hobbs (Trelleborg AVS, UK)
An evaluation of one coat technology bonding system alternatives for natural rubber to metal bonding, compared to an established two coat system. Identifying possible technical benefits and comparing various pre-prepared surfaces.
Incorporating silica into natural rubber - Anke Blume (University of Twente, The Netherlands)
Mixing of silica into an NR masterbatch is compared to the mixing required for in situ silica/silane-based compounds. The talk will discuss the effectiveness of the mixing process and the final dispersion of the silica in the rubber.
