Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg Wheel Systems (TWS) is transferring all wheels and rims production to its facility in Liepaja, Latvia, the company has said.
In a statement provided to ERJ, Trelleborg communications manager Karin Larsson said the company intends to consolidate “all its wheels and rims production in one facility” by the end of 2018.
“The facility will manufacture wheels and rims from three inches to 54 inches in diameter, used for everything from forklifts and farm equipment to huge harvesting machines for forestry,” Larsson explained.
With the focus on Liepaja, all operations at Trelleborg’s Sävsjö site in Sweden will cease and production will move to Latvia.
Aiming to become a “centre of excellence” for wheels and rims production, the Liepaja facility will expand its floor space by over 70%.
