Trelleborg, Sweden – Trelleborg’s offshore operation has appointed Ralph Wu as sales manager for China to focus on building local relationships with customers within the oil & gas, renewables, mining and heavy construction markets.
Wu is a mechanical and automation engineer and specialises in project management.
For the last nine years he has worked for an offshore equipment company responsible for product market positioning, new product development and key technology breakthroughs.
Based out of Trelleborg’s Qingdao facility and working as part of Trelleborg’s China based sales team, Wu will be focused on obtaining new opportunities for the product and material technologies of Trelleborg’s offshore operation.
The appointment is part of Trelleborg’s strategy to strengthen its positions in attractive market segments.
Commenting on the market, Richard Beesley, sales & business development director for Trelleborg’s offshore operation, said China’s “offshore oil and gas and renewables markets are quickly growing and its heavy construction market is established.”
This has prompted Trelleborg to have a sales team on the ground.
