Updated: Tire Cologne attracts over 16k visitors
Cologne, Germany – The inaugural Tire Cologne expo achieved a total registered visitors number of “more than 16,000" and attracted 533 exhibitors, organisers KoelnMesse have announced.
The Tire Cologne trade fair was held 29 May to 1 June and is supported by the BRV, Germany’s tire trade association.
Attendees came from 113 countries, with visitors from outside of Germany representing around 60% of visitors, said a statement issued 1 June.
The show-up in Cologne compares to an official attendance of 16,169* and 681 exhibitors for Reifen 2016 – the biennial expo which Tire Cologne has essentially replaced.
The Essen show attracted visitors numbers of 18,349 and 19,541 respectively in 2012 and 2014. This was prior to the emergence of plans for Tire Cologne expo backed by former Reifen-sponsor the BRV.
Having at first tried to compete, organisers Messe Essen moved Reifen into aftermarket show Automechanika 2018, 13-15 Sept in Frankfurt, Germany.
KoelnMesse has announced details for the next staging of the Tire Cologne expo, which will take place from 9-12 June 2020.
*Based on official attendance figures supplied by the BRV to correct previous estimate of 20,000 attendees for Reifen 2016 given in previous ERJ report.
