Very little time left for Turkish retread companies - Kraiburg
ERJ staff report (BC)
Geretsberg, Austria - An event to inform Turkish tire retreaders on the implications of United Nations regulation ECE 109 was held in Ankara recently, organised by tire distributor Tatko Otomotive.
ECE 109 concerns approval for the production of retreaded pneumatic tyres for commercial vehicles and their trailers, and the Turkish retreaders have been given just six months to comply with it.
Tatko's own retreading business has already been certified for three years as conforming to ECE 109. The regulation was made official in 2009.
The distributor invited 40 customers who are affected by the regulation, with experts from Kraiburg Austria on hand to advise.
