Nakata appoints BPS as Americas agent
Kobe, Japan – Nakata Engineering Inc., which makes tire ply extrusion and rubber processing machinery has named BPS Engineering, LLC as its agent and representative in North and South America.
From February, BPS will provide new and existing Nakata customers with sales, support and a complete inventory of commonly required spare parts for Nakata machinery, the Japanese company announced 18 Jan.
Greenback, Tennessee-based BPS will stock Nakata replacement parts, handle invoicing and distribution and be responsible for new equipment sales.
BPS is a centrally located maker of tire-building equipment, including tire-building drums, transfer rings and other specialised products, Nakata’s release noted.
Nakata said it will continue to provide engineering and service support from their home base in Kobe, Japan and will lend staff and resources when necessary.
BPS, it added, also has the capability to manufacture some Nakata replacement parts for the Western market and may be contracted to do so at a later date.
Both companies plan to investigate additional synergies as the relationship matures, the statement also pointed out.
“Together, this strategic partnership between two respected tire manufacturing equipment providers will allow Nakata Engineering to serve its North and South American customers with faster spare parts delivery and more localised service and sales, Nakata concluded.
