Malaysian Rubber Board appoints new head
Kuala Lumpur – Dr Zairossani bin Mohd Nor has been appointed as the new director general of the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) effective 1 Nov.
Zairossani who served as the MRB deputy director general (research & innovation) since 2015, has led a number of R&D programmes and technical support projects for the rubber industry.
Presently, he is leading several national R&D programmes particularly in speciality rubber production and green rubber products technology, the board has announced.
The new MRB boss has more than 50 publications as well as 12 patents and trademarks credited to him.
Zairossani holds a bachelor of engineering from the University of Guelph, Canada. He obtained his masters and PhD in applied science (biochemical engineering) from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
He is currently the chairman for ISO/TC 45 (rubber and rubber products) and was elected to this post in May 2013.
He previously served as the chairman of the ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standards and Conformity (ACCSQ) – Rubber Based Product Working Group (RBPWG) during 2011 and 2014.
