Trelleborg extends enviroment pledge
ERJ staff report (TB)
Rome —Trelleborg Wheel Systems S.p.A. will be participating in Zero Impact, an environmental project set up to calculate, reduce and offset the CO2 emissions generated by the activities of individuals, events, products and businesses across the globe.
"As an industry leader we are, of course, passionate about creating added value for farmers, particularly through new product innovations. However, at the same time, we are equally as passionate about safeguarding the environment; our TM Blue concept is proof of this," said Lorenzo Ciferri, marketing director agricultural and forestry tires at Trelleborg Wheel Systems.
"Applied to our entire manufacturing cycle, from design to production, our TM Blue concept also ensures worker safety and environmental protection. Our BlueTire Technology, which was born out of this philosophy, represents a collection of innovations, patents and processes from which the new TM product lines were conceived.
"This ensures maximum performance and environmental friendliness, now and in the future. As such, we are extremely proud to be able to take part in such a worthwhile project and be chosen as a partner by LifeGate."
Trelleborg said the Zero Impact project, which was started by LifeGate S.p.A., uses environmental impact assessments to compensate for CO2 emissions generated across the globe by protecting and creating forests.
In order to offset the 5162 kg of CO2 generated by the manufacture of its limited edition BlueTire Technology fleece top, Trelleborg said it contributed to the creation of 1.2 acres of new forest in Costa Rica.
