Melksham, UK – Avon Rubber plc has won a contract to supply 37,000 of its FM50 respirators together with related spares and accessories to an unnamed customer.
Avon announced on 22 May that it expected to fulfil the order during the first half of its 2018 financial year, starting September 2017.
In response to an ERJ query, the UK-based rubber company declined to comment on the financial size of the contract or the location of the company in question.
Commenting on the deal, CEO Paul McDonald said it reflected the company’s “expansion into foreign military markets”.
This, he added, will strengthen Avon’s yearend order book.
According to Avon, FM50 is the latest generation its CBRN full face mask designed to meet NATO forces' military mask requirements.
The Melksham-based company is also in a long-term 10-year contract to deliver JSGPM M50 mask systems to the US Department of State.
