ContiTech opens new R&D centre in China

Changshu, China – ContiTech has opened its first research and development centre in China for mounting and vibration control technology.
The centre, located in 100km from Shanghai in Changshu, will work closely with automotive customers such as Geely, General Motors and Shanghai Volkswagen to develop and manufacture ‘innovative’ rubber products, ContiTech said.
The German company invested around Euro 8 million in the centre, which took eight months to complete. The 30 Chinese engineers based at the centre are responsible for the production of products such as prototype engine mounts, shock absorbers and bushings.
