Yokohama plant receives award from Caterpillar

Peoria, Illinois – Heavy-equipment maker Caterpillar Inc. has bestowed a top supplier award for 2015 on Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd’s off-road tire plant in Onomichi, Japan.

This marks the fourth straight year that Yokohama has earned Caterpillar’s platinum level recertification in its supplier quality excellence process.

The award recognises suppliers that have exhibited excellent process control, shown a desire for ongoing continuous improvement and have provided quality products to Caterpillar.

“Earning an award like this from a world-class OEM like Caterpillar for the fourth consecutive year is a tribute to Yokohama’s global commitment to deliver best-in-class quality products and service,” said Andrew Zeisser, director, OE sales, for Yokohama Tire Corp.

Yokohama’s Onomichi plant produces original equipment and replacement OTR tires for a wide range of off-road equipment in sizes up to 51 inches in rim diameter.
