Trelleborg, Sweden - Trelleborg’s pipe seals operation has teamed up with ‘PVC-O’ pipe manufacturer, Molecor South East Asia (SEA) Sdn Bhd, to produce a new plastics pipe and integrated seal for pressurised water networks in Malaysia.
In a press release on 1 Oct, Trelleborg said it would produce its Forsheda 576 (F-576) Anger-lock seal in Malaysia to be installed into Molecor pipes with a pressure rating of 16 and 25 bar, and ranging from DN 90mm to 630mm.
According to the company, the new combination of pipe and seal will be marketed under brand name Hypro and is said to improve performance and reduce costs over its lifetime.
The Anger-lock seal is designed with a rubber sealing element that is bonded to reinforcing plastics to make a one-piece seal.
The soft plastics reinforcement is said to enable easy installation of the seal into the pipe’s socket, either manually or automatically, using special insertion equipment.
