London - Rubber and tire recycler Lehigh Technologies is expecting to start its manufacturing plant in Europe by the end of this year, a company spokeswoman has confirmed.
The US-based producer of micronized rubber powders (MRP) is setting up its manufacturing site in Navarra, Spain, she said adding that the plant has a name-plate capacity of 3,000 tonnes a year with the option of expanding to 10,000 tonnes a year.
The company announced earlier this week that it had opened a Spanish subsidiary in Barcelona in order to ensure local availability of services.
Lehigh is currently working with waste-treatment company Hera Holdings on their European manufacturing strategy, Lehigh CEO Alan Barton said in a press statement issued 17 June.
