Hexpol expanding rubber compounds capacity in Mexico

Malmo, Sweden - Hexpol is to increase its rubber compounds capacity to meet growing demand from the country’s automotive and engineering sectors.
The project involves the addition of a 135l compounding line and extending the infrastructure at its site in Querétaro, the Swedish company said 29 May.
The new line, which is due on stream in second half of 2016, will take rubber compounding capacity to over 70,000 tonnes from at Hexpol’s facilities in Querétaro and Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Global polymers group Hexpol supplies specialised compounds, gaskets for plate heat exchangers and wheels made of plastics and rubber materials for forklifts and castor wheel applications.
These products go mainly to systems suppliers to players in the global automotive and engineering industries and the energy, oil and gas sector, manufacturers of medical equipment, as well as OEM manufacturers of plate heat exchangers and forklifts.
