Continental confirms takeover of A-Z moulding

Hanover, Germany – Continental AG has confirmed that it is taking over tire mould and container manufacturer A-Z Formen- & Maschinenbau GmbH.

A spokesman for Continental told Rubber and Plastics News that the acquisition had taken place but that the German auto supplier was “currently not planning to publish an own press release,” presumably waiting until the purchase is complete.

News reports in Germany said on 17 Dec that the announcement was made earlier in the week at a staff meeting at A-Z Formen’s facilities in Runding. According to reports, more details on the takeover will be announced in January.

A-Z is a supplier of tire technology and advanced machining. For the past 75 years, it has been designing and manufacturing tire moulds and containers, tire regroovers and other special machinery.
