Evonik launches new units for crosslinking activators
Wesseling, Germany – Evonik has started two new plant units for the production of crosslinking activators at its site in Wesseling.
A company press release on 10 Dec said that triallyl cyanurate (TAC) and triallyl isocyanurate (TAI) are now produced at the site, offering two crosslinking activators for use in plastics and rubber materials.
“The new production allows us to meet our customers’ rising quality requirements as well as the growing demand worldwide,” said Matthias Hau, head of the Evonik’s agrochemicals & polymer additives business line.
TAC is primarily used in rubber materials, such as hoses and cable coatings in the automotive sector to increase aging resistance of products.
The release added that the new plant units were connected to an existing cyanuric chloride plant, which provides source materials for TAC and TAI.
