Hubei, China - Huifu Silicon Materials has opened a 2-kilotonne-per-annum (ktpa) facility for the production of gas-phase, white carbon black.
Construction of the plant in Xingfa Group Yichang Fine Chemical Park started in early 2014. The facility was started up in November, following a month-long trial run.
This marks the first phase of the company's 6-ktpa gas-phase white carbon black project with 180 million Yuan (€23 million) total investment.
According to local government's website, methyltrichlorosilane used in the plant comes from by-products of organosilicon facilities in the same park. The whole project, when in operation, is expected to have over 200 million Yuan (€26 million) annual production value.
