Milan, Italy - Pirelli & C. SpA is to establish a new organisational set-up to support its integrated business model, the Italian tire-maker announced 18 April.
Executive vice chairman and CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera will propose the new organisation to a board-of-directors meeting scheduled for 14 May, Pirelli said in a press release.
As part of the initiative, the tire maker will form a ‘general management operations’ (GMO) unit, to be headed by Andrea Casaluci.
Casaluci is currently the executive vice president in charge of original equipment, region Europe, and the company’s ‘prestige’ business unit.
The proposed GMO unit will aim to increase operational efficiency within Pirelli and covers all ‘regions’ and all the organisational units connected with operations’ management.
These include ‘commercial original equipment’, ‘commercial replacement’, ‘Moto, velo and motorsport’, ‘BU prestige’, ‘strategic marketing’ and ‘manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain’.
The structure will also include a ‘technology area’ unit, consisting of ‘technology & quality’ and ‘cyber & innovation’ functions.
The ‘technology area’ will be overseen by executive VP Maurizio Boiocchi, who will “also report to the General Manager in a spirit of close collaboration.”
Boiocchi will also continue to head technical and F1 activities, according to Pirelli’s statement.
