Pawtucket, Rhode Island – At NPE2018, Davis-Standard will use a medical grade thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), from fellow exhibitor Teknor Apex, to produce tubing in a live demonstration of Industry 4.0 technology.
Specifically, the machinery maker will use Medalist MD-12382 TPE, a translucent, kink-resistant, gamma-stable compound, said a 9 April press release from Teknor Apex.
The Pawtucket materials company will also supply translucent colour concentrates for use with the compound at NPE, 7-11 May, in Orlando, Florida.
Davis-Standard will also present its Thermatic extruder design and the DS eVUE II controller at its booth.
The tubing line is intended to show “the benefits of preventative and predictive maintenance as part of an international trend toward the ‘smart factory.’”
